What happened to Electrum-BTR?

Since "XRC" is primarily used as the ticker and identifer for Bitcoin Rhodium, we decided to change it here to something reflects the now common usage..

Should I move to Electrum if the web wallet works?

This is primarily your decision and judgement. The web wallet is easy to use and does not store information about how to make transactions. However, some wish to have complete control over every aspect of their coins. Electrum-XRC can be used for this goal. However, one takes complete responsibility for the data that is saved.

Some can also use Electrum-XRC in the future with ElectrumX and the node software to have a "full node" with Electrum-XRC as the wallet UI.

Is there a version of Electrum-XRC for Android or iOS?

Android or iOS is not currently supported.

How do I access my XRC with Electrum? Do I have to stop using the web wallet?

You can use the seed, the transaction password and first address in your wallet (only for verification, it is not sent anywhere) to restore your wallet.

However, it is recommended instead to create a new wallet and transfer your coins to the new wallet. Moving the coins to a new wallet is a good and secure way in general with any cryptocurrency.

Where is my wallet file located?

Wallet files are created in a /wallets directory. On Windows, this folder is located in \Users\**YourUserName**\AppData\Roaming\Local\Electrum-XRC. On Mac and Linux, it will be located in your home directory, under /home/**YourUserName**/.electrum-btr.

Can I use Electrum-XRC with the Strong Hands program?

Yes! We recommend that you create a new wallet for the purpose of this program and move the coins that you want to base your reward on.
